Chair of the CHC

Starting July 2026, Arielle Baskin-Sommers will be stepping in as the chair of the CHC.

Steering Committee

The Steering Committee is constituted by the Chair of the CHC and the chairs of the respective CHC committees. It sets the agenda for the CHC, determines the budgetary priorities and sets fiscal policy for the CHC, and as a body serves as the chief liaison between the CHC, the Office of the President, and the Yale College Dean’s Office.

Standing Committees

Arts & Awards Committee

The Arts and Awards Committee administers the Creative and Performing Arts (CPA) Awards, the CHC Junior and Senior Awards, and the Athletic Awards, and it makes recommendations to the CHC for changes in policy in these areas. The committee also assists in the administering of the Paul Mellon senior research fellowships as well as the Richter summer fellowships open to students of Yale College.

Education and RC College Seminar Committee

The Education and RC College Seminar Committee primarily works to coordinate with the Yale College Dean’s Office to select an annual residential college seminar. This committee typically has one Head serve as a liaison to the Yale College Dean’s Office regarding issues of education.

Services Committee

The Services Committee addresses issues regarding Dining Services, Security, Facilities, Grounds and Maintenance, and Transportation in the residential colleges and makes recommendations to the CHC for changes of policy in these areas.
